1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Givora uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website at https://givora.app and any related services we operate (together, the "Service").

It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data more generally, including the legal bases on which we rely and the rights you have.

Givora is operated by Alria Group AB (company registration number 559533-9366), the data controller responsible for your personal data. You can contact us about this policy at privacy@givora.app.

Please note: Givora is currently in a pre-launch phase. Some of the categories described below relate to features (such as accounts and donations) that will apply once those features become available.

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit. Cookies let a site recognise your device, remember your actions and preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how the site is used.

We also use similar technologies that work in comparable ways, such as local storage (data stored in your browser), pixels or tags (small pieces of code that record activity), and software development kits in any apps we may offer. In this policy, we refer to all of these simply as "cookies".

Cookies may be set by us (first-party cookies) or by a third-party provider whose services we use, such as a maps or analytics provider (third-party cookies).

3. The categories of cookies we use

  • Strictly necessary: these are required to run the Service. They keep you signed in, secure forms, remember your cookie choices and the language you chose, and balance load across our servers. The Service cannot function properly without them, so they do not require your consent.
  • Preference: these remember choices you make, such as your map view or that you joined the waiting list, so the Service behaves the way you expect. They are optional.
  • Analytics: these help us understand how visitors find and use the Service so we can improve it, for example by counting visits and seeing which pages are most used. They are optional and not yet active.

4. Cookies we currently set

The two cookies below are set by Clerk, our authentication provider, via Cloudflare, and are required for the Service to function securely. The three local storage items are set by us in your own browser and are not sent to our servers.

  • __cf_bm — Cloudflare — Distinguishes humans from bots to protect the Service and keep reporting accurate — 30 minutes — Strictly necessary
  • _cfuvid — Cloudflare — Supports Cloudflare's security and rate-limiting rules — Session — Strictly necessary
  • givora_cookies — Givora (local storage) — Remembers your cookie choices — 12 months, then we ask again — Strictly necessary
  • givora_lang — Givora (local storage) — Remembers the language you chose, and is only set when you choose one — Until you clear it — Strictly necessary
  • givora_joined — Givora (local storage) — Remembers that you joined the waiting list so the form is not shown again — Until you clear it — Preference

5. Your consent and how to manage cookies

Under the Swedish Electronic Communications Act and the ePrivacy Directive, we ask for your consent before setting any cookie that is not strictly necessary. You give that consent through the cookie banner shown when you first visit the Service.

You can change or withdraw your choices at any time via the cookie settings link in the site footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect cookies already read while your consent was active.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings, where you can block or delete cookies that are already stored. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how the Service works.

6. Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by third-party providers whose tools we use to operate the Service. These providers may process limited data about your visit under their own privacy policies. Where a provider processes data outside the EU or EEA, we rely on an appropriate transfer mechanism as described in our Privacy Policy.

If we enable analytics or maps that set cookies in future (for example Google Analytics or Mapbox), we will update this policy and the table in Section 4 before those cookies are used.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example when we add or remove cookies or introduce new features. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. Where a change requires your consent, we will ask for it.
